The thermometer on my car read 101 degrees outside and it was only nine o’clock in the morning. But nothing was going to prevent me from moving into my college dorm room, not even the scorching heat. I had been waiting for move in day all summer and I was finally at UT for good! I opened the trunk of my mother’s gold minivan and began unloading heaps of stuff from the car.  But as the stuff kept coming and coming and my room kept filling up I began to wonder where all the stuff had come from. It had looked like a lot less when sitting in my room in Houston. And weren’t the dorm rooms bigger when we were taking the tour? After moving around the furniture and completely filling up my tiny closet I eventually figured out how to fit everything I needed (and a few things I definitely didn’t) into my 14×14 feet room for two. And it turns out I love my room! It is cute, colorful, homey and I just know I am going to love spending the next 9 months living in it.

Funny how stuff expands in proportion to the available space it has to occupy! Glad you got settled in!

So the adventure begins! This is probably the least amount of stuff that you will ever have. And it is amazing that it is really enough stuff. Keep us updated.
